Back view of a correct 18 hole cartridge pouch.

All leather tumpline

This tumpline uses leather straps and buckles. Leave the leather "natural" and oil it to protect it; this will make it turn a russet color. You may use a russet finish wax if you prefer.

Leather Tumpline

This is one example of a tumpline, using leather strap, rope ties.

Jacket Cuff

Design of the cuff for our ranging jackets

Shoes neatly stowed

Photo of proper buckle shoes, gaiters and garters neatly stowed by the bunk at Fort Loudon.

A "housewife" repair kit - unrolled

This is a repair kit (called a housewife or hussif) made from scrap fabric. They are simple to make, and a good way to learn basic hand sewing. This view shows it open.

A "housewife" repair kit - rolled up

This shows the housewife rolled up and ready to go in your pack. It's complete with pins, needles, a thimble, small piece of beeswax and thread rolled around various holders. A small pair of scissors rolls up in the kit.
